2004 WORLD ULTIMATE AND GUTS CHAMPIONSHIPS August 1-7, 2004
Turku, Finland

Six teams from the United States will travel to Turku, Finland this August to compete in the 11th World Ultimate and Guts Championships, hosted by the Finnish Flying Disc Association and sanctioned by the World Flying Disc Federation. Seventy-six teams from 23 countries will be competing for the world title in a championship tournament that takes place just once every four years.

The US Open, Women's, Mixed and Masters teams were selected by the UPA based on the results of the 2003 UPA Club Ultimate Championships, which were held in Sarasota, Florida last fall. The top finishing US team in each division was invited to represent the United States at the World Championships.

The US Junior Open and Junior Girls teams were determined through a rigorous application process, which included two tryout sessions held this spring in Atlanta, Georgia and Burlington, Washington. Thirty-eight talented young athletes from across the country will come together under the expert coaching of Tiina Booth, Michael Baccarini, John Sandahl, and Vida Towne to represent the USA in the juniors division of the tournament.

The UPA recognizes the following sponsors for their support of the USA Ultimate teams:
